The Taj Mahal is about three hours from Delhi by road, which makes it an easy day out on a free Saturday or Sunday. You travel by private air-conditioned car with one of our team, spend around two hours at the Taj with an experienced guide, and can add Agra Fort before heading back.
The day
- An early start from your accommodation in Delhi, with breakfast on the way.
- A guided visit to the Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Agra Fort, if you would like to see it, just along the river.
- Lunch on the road back to Delhi, arriving in the evening.

When can I go?
Most volunteers go on a Saturday or Sunday. Tell us your preferred date when you apply or once you arrive, and we arrange the car and guide.
Is the Taj Mahal open every day?
It is closed on Fridays, so the trip runs on other days of the week.
