About Volunteering India
A small, locally run volunteer organization in New Delhi, placing volunteers with local schools, shelters and women’s groups since 2004.
Volunteering India is based in New Delhi. Since 2004 we have welcomed volunteers and interns from more than 30 countries and placed them with schools, shelters, women’s centers and hospitals in and around Delhi. In 2026 we added Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan.
Who we are
We are a privately owned social enterprise, not linked to any government or religious body. Volunteering India is run by Volunteering Travel Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a company registered in New Delhi.
Everyone who coordinates our projects lives locally. The people who answer your first email are the same team who meet you at the airport, take you to your project and check on you through your stay.
What we believe
Volunteering should help both sides. We match what volunteers can offer with what local communities ask for, and we keep our prices low so that more people can take part.
- Projects ask, we answer. We place volunteers where our partners have asked for help, and we visit regularly to make sure the help is still needed.
- Local staff stay in charge. Volunteers support the teachers, carers and doctors who run each project. They never replace them, and never work alone with children.
- Safety first. Background checks for work with children, a full orientation, and a team you can call at any hour.
- Animals are not attractions. Our elephant work is at a rescue center, with no riding and no performing.
