Delhi, the capital of India, is the gateway to the country for most of the foreign visitors. The warmth of city, the vibrancy, the cosmopolitan amalgamation and the historical richness of the city will definitely make you fall in love with the place.
Being the 2nd largest metropolis in India, Delhi is home to more than 14 million people and the number is increasing day by day. The hustle and bustle of the city is rolling up and so are some of the social issues that need to addressed.
Volunteering India has been working with several local organizations and NGOs in and around Delhi, with the aim of making a better society through sustainable development. We are currently hosting 9 meaningful volunteering programs in Delhi that are exclusively designed by our expert team after a detailed research of the areas that need proper attention.
Starting from Street Children’s Project to Orphanage Project and Women’s Empowerment Project, students and gap year travelers can effectively utilize their stay while in Delhi. For medical and pre-med students, we have internship program in Delhi offering the scope to learn about the health care system of India.
There’s an array of programs that you can choose from, and college students as well as high school students can make the most of their summer breaks/ spring breaks/ winter breaks by traveling to India to volunteer.
The programs are structured in such a way that they are beneficial for the volunteers and the host communities equally, and it’s a ‘Win-Win’ situation for both. While volunteers get to know about India - its customs and heritage closely while gaining first-hand grassroots level work experience, the under-privileged section of the society gets a ray of hope.
Volunteers would also get to explore the architectural grandeur of the capital city and visit the 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Qutub Minar, Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb - during their journey.
Volunteering India has a dedicated in-country team, who will orient the volunteers about their project and also help them in their day-to-day activities. We will be happy to help the volunteers who want to travel to the surrounding places during their weekends.
