Dental Elective Internship Program in Palampur

Volunteering India offers a unique opportunity for dental students to take part in two week dental internship placement in Palampur/ Dharamsala and gain valuable experience by working along with professional dentists. The two week Dental Elective project is available for Dental students who are looking to gain valuable international exposure by doing an international internship. While doing a dental elective internship in India is a great addition to the CV of the students, it also helps them gain valuable experience and learn about the differences in the medical system between different countries.
Our program is also suitable for dental students groups travelling together. We arrange special dental checkup camps wherein interns can work. Camps generally are conducted for students of local schools and in nearby villages. This is intended to be a fun, interactive way to increase their oral hygiene habits and raise awareness of certain common dental problems such as gum diseases and cavities. Under this program you would be doing observation and shadowing role for the first week of the program. During the second week you would take part in the Dental Camp, which is part of the program. The week involves screening of patients, doing awareness activities and treating patients for 2-3 days during the week.
The amount of “hands on” involvement while interning will depend upon the intern’s experience, comfort level, skills and knowledge level, the consent of both the attending dentist as well as the patient being treated.

Note: The program is available for minimum 3 or more dental students taking part in the program together.
